Q: How much could I expect to get off the list price for a new Honda Civic ES or EX 2.2 cdti.?
What dealers offer the best discounts on new Honda Civics?

A: depends on the dealer and if the dealer has addendums to the sticker.best way to negotiate with new car dealer is an over invoice basis

Q: What do I do to my new Honda Civic Coupe EX to make it look sleek?
I bought a galaxy grey Honda Civic Coupe EX yesterday, and it is fantastic. I am in love again! I am going to take it today and get the windows tinted, but I was wondering if anyone knows of anything additional I can do to it, to make it look sexy and sleek. I want it to stand out from the rest a bit – no need for extra speed.. just a face-lift. Any suggestions would be great!
Thanks

A: wait a little while for the aftermarket to come up with various body kits and body pieces to make your car stand out, it’s too new to expect much just yet… just be patient, guaranteed the civic will be able to get some bling soon

Q: How much does it cost to buy a new honda civic door remote opener?
My purse was stolen with my house and car keys including the remote door opener. A few months ago my husband lost the spare key and remote door opener so now I have nothing. Does anyone have any idea how much it costs to get a new one?

A: ring the honda civic company, but i had to buy daewoo set cost me 180 on a sunday.for two.

Q: what is the average price for a NEW HONDA CIVIC?
i dont know if i should buy a used or a new and i was just wondering which is cheaper. preferably a coupe. but other ones are good too.
i dont know if i should buy a used or a new and i was just wondering which is cheaper. preferably a coupe 2007 or 2008. but other ones are good too.

A: If you like stick you will get Civic MANUAL Trans cheap!

Now if you want auto trans, I would suggest getting a 2007. 2008 civics right now are in such high demand that the prices are jacked up unless of course it is MANUAL trans then thats a different story.

And YES get your quotes ONLINE!!! and heres a secret: DONT BE FOOLED BY THE LOWEST PRICE!!!

Sometimes dealers are not too honest. Well I guess I shouldnt say that, they just leave out stuff. For example I lose deals because some guy matched my price and lowered it a couple of hundred dollars so they took the other deal. When they got to the dealership, thats when they added the destination charges and the options that particular vehicle comes with. So they actually paid WAAAAYY more than they would have buying from me. Lesson is: you need to weigh your choices. Dont just go with whos cheaper. Go with the ones who are up front with you and who would itemize everything to you up front. That is my advise.

Oh and definitely get quotes ONLINE! Im the Internet Manager for Honda of TO and my department gives out cars left and right. Our prices are waaaayy lower than the floor and your auto purchase will take MUCH faster. Enjoy!

P.s. You might want to look at Honda FITS theyre like 15k w great gas mileage

Q: I preffered Mopars, just got a new Honda Civic LX, what will the big 3 do to retain customers?
I like cars, I do not like subsuvs like the cutesypoo Caliber; gee i’m a big suv too!!!

Chrysler, I want cars. Why not a Hemi V6 to compete against the 3 Series BMW, rear wheel drive, 6 speed manual and a fully independent suspension?

Enough of my rant, Honda now has me hooked.

A: I would have bought a Charger R/T. Duh! Not some cute chick car.

Q: At how many miles does a new Honda Civic need new breaks?
I just drove my car this morning and it started to make sounds. I have 17,700 miles on it. When does a car like that need new breaks?

A: It all depends on the type of driving you do and how often you use the brake. They can usually last a good 30,000 miles to 50,000 but if you do a lot of heavy braking it could ware them out faster. The best way to tell is lift the front end of your car, take of the wheels and check the brake pads themselves. They are part D in the picture. The black stuff that is little further in than the metal is what you need to check how much of it is there, if it looks like the metal is about to touch the disk like really close then you should change them. Also some newer cars have a sensor that will tell you if you need them changed or not so you should check your cars owners manual.

Q: Buying a new Honda Civic, do I pull the trigger?
I’m new to carbuying and this will be my first new car (at age 23). I’m able to get an automatic 2010 Honda Civic DXVP for $16,300 and a 5 year finance rate of 0.9%. Is this a good deal or about par? Do you think I’ll be able to get a better price if I wait a few more months?

A: 0.9%? That’s insanely low. I’d take the rate but I wouldn’t take the car. That ciivc is about as low as it gets, DXVP is about as base as it gets. I’d go up to an LX or an EX especially if the rate stays the same. You’ll thank yourself when it comes time to selling this car if you upgrade now.

You do know for around $16k you could find a 2-3 year old civic EX for the same price as you’re about to pay right? You could get a nicer car for cheaper or the same and the value won’t depreciate as much as it does when you buy a new car.

Cars only sound like “fart cannon’s” when people put exhaust tips on their cars. Not sure how you got to be a top contributor, when all of your answers slander Honda or Toyota. You don’t actually answer any questions.

Q: How does the Acura CSX compare to the New Honda Civic?
I was looking at getting an ‘07 Civic, and while I still feel it’s a beautiful car I also feel like it’s missing a lot of the bells and whistles that I’ve grown accustomed to. Would moving up to an Acura CSX be worth the extra money?

A: If you’re looking for bells and whistles then get the acura, if you’re looking for reliability then get the honda. I worked in the service deparment at an acura dealership and those bells and whistles break down a lot.

Q: How much does it actually cost to buy a new car (honda civic)?
If I find on the internet that a honda civic costs 16,305—are there other fees like dealership fees, taxes, registrations?

Also people tell me to buy a used car—but I find that the price difference beween a 2008 used honda and a brand new one is les than 1000, and the miles on th used one is like 15,000. Is it really dumb to buy new? Im a first time car buyer. Thanks

A: First you need to understand that the $16,305 given on whatever internet site you are using probably is not the actual selling price, unless it is a written quote from a franchised dealer or a legitimate online broker. If it’s a number off Kelley Blue Book, Edmunds, or Yahoo Autos or whatever, the actual selling price will vary from dealer to dealer depending on inventory, incentives, etc.

Then there will be several costs in addition to the basic selling price of the car. Each of these will be listed on your purchase order for the new vehicle. That’s the long government-mandated form that is filled out by the computer after you have agreed to a purchase price, and which you must sign several places and initial several others.

The example I have in front of me starts with the cash price. Your car will be less expensive, so some of the examples will not be representative of what you should expect.

The next cost is sales tax, which is a percentage of the purchase price. This can run into the thousands of dollars.

There is a dealer documentation fee, which you must pay (you can’t do this yourself.) On the example I have it’s $249.

Next is the Registration fee, usually a fixed amount. ($22.50 on this car)

On the form I am referring to there is a “Title Fee,” ($4,00) and a “Lieu Tax,” whatever that means. (It was $25 on this transaction.)

There is a $5.00 tire recycling fee.

There is usually a space where they can list what they charge you if you get your insurance through them. Don’t.

Also, there will be several places where they tell you how much your financing is costing you. This is not, strictly speaking, a “fee” so I don’t count it.

Other states may have other fees, so look at the purchase order form carefully before you sign or initial anywhere.

Do not buy anything else. Don’t buy the Lojac, the undercoating, the aftermarket alarm, the extended warranty, the fancy wheels, the “exterior and interior protectant package,” or anything else. If they don’t throw in a set of floor mats, don’t pay for them.

As to the new versus used question, I usually counsel clients to buy used for their first car. The real difference in price is not what you see in the ads. Look for a certified pre-owned car at a Honda dealer. Do some homework at Edmunds, KBB.com and the Auto Trader to see what they are asking for, for low mileage cars. Remember that the real selling price will be lower than the listed asking price.

Q: I just got a new Honda Civic 2009 LX. When should I change tires on it?
I just got a new Honda Civic 2009 LX. When should I change tires on it?

A: Well it depends. If you mistreat your car often then sooner rather then later.
But if you’re normal with it, then not until i would say 4-5 years.

Q: What should i do if a Maintenance Required light comes on on my new honda civic with 10,000+ miles?
I called honda service and they said the required service with a 10,000 miles would about $200.00 and i think i am getting ripped off.

A: THE LIGHT COMES ON EVERY TIME THE CAR NEEDS SERVICE,EVERY 10+20+ 45+ AND SO ON.BUT WHEN THE CAR IS NEW IS FOR MAINTENANCE STILL UNDER WARRANTY,OUT OF WARRANTY MAYBE SOMETHING GOING BAD UNDER THE HOOD,THERE IS A SWITCH UNDER THE DASH A RELEASE SWITCH THAT WILL TURN OFF THE LIGHT,BUT THAT WILL NOT HELP YOU CAR .THE LIGHT TELLS YOU SOMETHING IS NOT WORKING PROPERLY AND NEEDS YOUR ATTENTION,BESIDES IF YOU DRIVE A NEW CAR IS BECAUSE YOU CAN AFFORD IT.SO GO AND DO THE RIGHT THING.

Q: Should I buy a new Honda Civic or a new Mazda 3?
I’m debating whether to get a new 2009 Honda Civic or a 2010 Mazda 3

What are the pros/cons of each?
i’m not limited to Civic or Mazda…I’m just wondering whats the best car for that price range

A: I test drove both cars last year. Mazda 3 was much more fun to drive, it was quick, nimble, good handling and styling, with proven reliability record, and good gas mileage. Honda CIvic was OK too but I felt it rides too low and the double stacked instrument cluster was a huge distraction for me. Otherwise, it should be a good reliable car as well.

Q: who sing the song for the new 2010 honda civic commercial?
who sings the heavy metal song in the new honda civic commercial?

A: Ask them to find it: http://splendad.com

Q: Is it safe to use rubbing compound on brand new honda civic?
Some people told me that rubbing compound is harmful to newer cars. Is this true?

My car has sustained scratches when I accidentally scraped a corner wall. Help!

A: See if the scratches go into the paint. If they do,the compound will not help those. You might try some on the scratches that do not go into the paint. Just a little in that spot.

Q: Whats the best way to modify my music system on a brand new honda civic ex?
I have a 2007 honda civic ex. I dont like the music system and want to upgrade or replace it. I realised the system is inbuilt in the dash board. I thought i can atleast replace the speakers. Any suggestions as to where to go and which is best ones that fit honda? thanks in advance

A: There is a whole new line of components to address your exact problem. Two that come to mind are the Alpine PXE-H650 and the Rockford Fosgate 3SIXTY.2, both are available from Crutchfield and probably many other places. These units allow you to keep your factory radio then do pretty much anything you want from there.
I’d also check Crutchfield for speakers, they’ll tell you what fits and what adapters are needed. In the end, you get what you pay for and you won’t go wrong with Alpine.
Good Luck with your system!
