Q: I was told by a Honda REP. THAT HONDAS USE I QUART OF OIL PER 1000 MILES.AND THAT THIS IS THE HONDA GUIDELINE?
JUST BOUGHT A USED 02 HONDA ACCORD EX. USED 5 QUARTS OF OIL IN 4000 MILES. HONDA REP SAID THAT THE HONDA GUIDELINE FOR OIL USE IS 1 QURAT PER 1000 MILES. IN FACT 2 REPS SAID THE SAME THING?? THIS MUST BE A JOKE YES??
A: What they are saying is that Honda defines acceptable oil use as up to 1 quart per 1,000 miles, although a well-maintained engine in good running order should use far less than that. Using 5 quarts in 4,000 miles sounds far too excessive for a Honda as relatively new as yours is.
You don’t mention any oil leaks, so I’m assuming the engine is burning the oil. Does it smoke? Excessive oil consumption is a sign that certain parts (in particular, piston rings and/or valve guides) are wearing out and need replacement. Have the car inspected by a reputable mechanic.
Q: Should I buy a new or a used car?
I’m debating. I own 2 cars. I’m selling both and going down to 1. Both are 95 Hondas.
I hoping to get around 10k between the both of them. I’m not going to trade them in because the dealer won’t give me what I feel there worth.
What it comes down to is, having a car payment. I would like to pay off my credit card debt completly(which is around $3500). I thinking take the money from the Honda’s and pay that off. Then take the differance and put it towards 6-8000$ car that I can pay in full or just have to finace a few thousand OR go for a brand new car but have a car payment.
A: Always buy used the second you drive a brand new car off the lot it depreciates so much in value it is not even worth it… Consider buying something with very little miles and still under warranty…..
Q: Have you ever bought a used car from a car auction?
My boyfriend did that 2 years ago and got really screwed over. He over estimated the cost of the car (including the tags, license plates, and registration). He paid what he had upfront and still did not get his car because there were more added fees. I’m thinking about trading my 2002 Mitsubishi Lancer. I plan on selling it back to the dealership. I looked on Kelly Blue Book.com and saw that my car is worth $5,515. My current mileage is 65,000. I have my eyes set on toyotas, acuras, and hondas. However unlike my boyfriend I wanted to go through carmax.
A: Yes I have. Thats eventually where all used cars come from. BTW, a dealer will almost never give you bluebook for a tradein. If they do you’re going to pay for it somewhere else….they may give you blue book trade in value, which is probably much less that the 5515 you saw. As far as auctions go, those cars are there to be bought inexpensively and then usually need to be gone through by a professional before they are sold. Thats why most people “get screwed” when they go to an auction. Its not they’re fault, its just the way they work. For example, if we went to an auction and you seen a nice 1996 pontiac grand prix and you wanted it, I already know that the car probably needs front pads and rotors, rear pads and rotors, and possibly calibers, intake manifold gasket, and probably a head gasket, (depending on the mileage), it may need the doors adjusted, it will probably need tierod ends, it will almost certainly need joist bumpers in the rear and thats all without me even seeing the car.
Q: how good is the voice activated navigation system on hondas? i am considering purchasing a 2003 accord with on
is it easy to use, is it clear voice wise.
A: I have an 04 Accord and the navi and voice features are very responsive and the way the “Chick voice” gives oral directions is very clear and helpful. I have reciently hacked the startup files on my Navi to display my website logo instead of the space pic that displays Honda Navigational System. I also changed the text in the disclaimer. When your looking at the car… goto the trunk and open the DVD box and take out the DVD… Note if there are any scratches on it and what year the DVD was made… I believe the DVD should be Orange. If the DVD was made in year 2002… I think it will be cause the DVD that comes stock is always 1 year behind the cars year. If your worried about the Navi DVD maps being out of date… Don’t worry… They come out with new versions every year and you can buy them. I still use my stock DVD from 2003 and it works fine.
Q: How come Toyotas and Hondas sell so well in China? I thought Chinese people still dislike Japanese people beca?
use of the Japanese takeover of China in the 1930s.
A: chineses secretly adore japaneses thats a fact,,, take a look at some major online chinese-language potal forums like baidu about female glamour models,,, they are absolutely dominated by japanese celebrities…
Q: Are some parts on a 97 Honda Civic DX interchangeable with other Hondas?
In particular, I need just a few small parts like one of the horn button on the sterring wheel, visor, visor clips, AC register adjustment piece, drink holder cover, and door latch mounting bolts. Can I use parts from any honda civic around this year or even an accord?
A: u can use parts frm a 96-2000 civic..doesnt matter wheather its dx,ex,hx,coupe or hatch.theyre all the same.
Q: Best Honda Car years and reliability?
I’m looking for used Hondas, and dont know which year I should get. My gap is between 1999-2007. I want it to be automatic transmission, front wheel drive, etc.
I need a car that can be reliable, with few or no engine and transmission problems.
On the other hand, does anyone suggest a brand other than Honda that is nearly as reliable or better?
Ok maybe I stated this wrong.
Im looking for a car that is the cheapest to repair “if I have too”
A: I would go for the Prelude 2001

Q: How do you check/add transmission oil in a 98 chevy blazer?
My husband wants to check the transmission oil on our grandmothers 98 Chevy blazer, but he’s only use to Hondas. Any help would be appreciated since she’s too scared to drive it.
A: Just start up the vehicle and let it run for a few minutes. Then take out the dipstick that is for the transmission fluid. It is typically red. Check it a few times and see if it is low or not. If it is grab a funnel that will fit down into the dipstick tube and add the level of tranny fluid that is needed.
Q: Why do people rice out hondas?
I saw what I believe to be a UFO or the gayest car in existence. It resembled the civic my grandma uses for groceries but it had a trunk spoiler, front lip, and a giant exhaust on it. It took about 4 shifts and no less than 9 seconds to get to 60. I really wanted to inform him his car looks like dogshit but the driver looked no better. Do people really think doing this to cars is cool? Why not get a car that’s actually fast or find a respectable car to soup up?
Never mentioned american cars, just that rice mobiles are slow..
A: If they are trying to impress im not. Its like trying to decorate the charlie brown tree at xmas. The car is crap but instead of saving money for a new one they buy decor for their crap car. Leave the tree on the lot save up for something better.
Q: itrips can hondas use itrips?
can honda cars use itrips
A: itrips is an fm transmitter for an ipod. any radio can use it. all it does is broadcast an fm signal.
Q: I need access to hondas interactive network Im having issues with some keys i have?
I just need to use the site to properly program the my keys so my car will start
A: Kickin’ the wrong dog. Access is severely restricted, useless without a registered diagnostic tool, and is not the correct way to program keys anyway. Go to an automotive locksmith or a dealer. You won’t do this yourself.
Q: looking for a compatible used motor for my 1996 odyssey lx?
wondering if engines from other hondas will work in this minivan…which is now smoking oil bigtime
A: look for a 94-97 accord lx motor, and the isuzu oasis (same vehicle)
