Q: How can you disable the alarm on a 2004 Honda Odyssey?
The security system recently seemed to change on our 2004 Honda Odyssey. It now automatically locks the doors after exiting the van. It originally did not do this and did not “chirp” when being locked. Any ideas on how to go back to the quiet version?
A: The chirp means it’s alarmed… usually when it doesn’t chip, it means it’s locked, but not alarmed. Someone would be able to break into the car easier if it’s quiet.
Q: How can I get a cheap Honda Odyssey?
Other than Carmax or Ebay, what’s the best way to get a great price on a new or used Honda Odyssey?
Thanks.
A: Try looking in your local classifieds, sometimes individuals will sell cars for reasonable prices. No guarantees but that is my suggestion.
Q: What is the minimum oil life percentage for a Honda Odyssey?
What would be the minimum oil life percentage for a Honda Odyssey 2005 until we need to change the oil?
I would like to know the minimum PERCENTAGE…thank you =]
A: Honda says get it changed when it’s 15-20%, but we waited last time until it was at 5% (I wouldn’t go less than 5%). Don’t change it based on mileage, your van will tell you when you need one. My first oil change was at 5,600 miles, but I’ve seen an Odyssey that didn’t need an oil change until 8,200miles!
Q: Where can I get a navigation system that will fit my 07 honda odyssey?
I bought a 07 Honda Odyssey w/o navigation and I would like to install one indash, I am trying to find where I could buy one but it seems that I can’t find one, so I thought of buying an after market but I don’t think they will fit being the factory radio looks so weired.
A: I garentee that you can get one that fits, you should take it to a auto sound shop and ask what kind of custom mounting kits they make for your car. Check out www.scosche.com and search for it, they have to have it
Q: My 2007 Honda Odyssey Ex Van does not start always when it is cold.?
My 2007 Honda Odyssey Ex battery started giving trouble recently. It does not start in the cold morning. Not sure why since it is just 6 months old.
A: take it to the dealer and explain your problem. Unless you have over 36,000 miles on it, it will be covered under your factory warranty.
Q: What is the life span of a 2002 Honda Odyssey, in Kms?
I am looking at purchasing a used Honda Odyssey. It’s a 2002 model and has been used for country driving mainly – so not a lot of stopping and starting. It has done 200,000 Ks. Does anyone know what the life span of the car is?
A: A car will last as long as someone is willing to spend the money to keep it running. There have documented cases of cars going more that one million miles (1,612,000 kms). What sends a car to the junk yard is when some repair is needed that costs more than the car is worth.
200,000 kms is a lot of kms for any car and therefore the likely hood of a major repair is greater that for that of a newer or lower km vehicle. That is the chance that you take with any used vehicle.
Q: How do we use the DVD Player on my 2006 Honda Odyssey?
Can someone please help us on how we can use the DVD Player on the 2006 Honda Odyssey? When we purchased the vehicle, the dealer did not go through the features with us. I know it seems easy, but we have tried every everything to play a DVD but the screen would not come turn on, so if you know the procedure please send us the steps on how to use the DVD Player. Thank You.
A: Check your user’s guide, it’s not that hard you know.
Q: I have a Honda odyssey 2003. Does anyone know if I can add 8th seat in the second row?
I have a Honda odyssey 2003. Does anyone know if I can add 8th seat in the second row? I know that the option is available for models later than 2005.
A: If you do add an eighth seat, then you have to notify your vehicle insurers. If you don’t, then you are technically driving an uninsured Vehicle, as the specification has changed from the vehicle you originally insured.
Q: What do you think of the Honda Odyssey?
My sister and her husband are looking into buying a honda odyssey and they wanted opinions from people who have had them and know what they are like. Is it overall a good vehicle or has anyone experienced any problems? Also, I’ve heard that it’s pretty pricy to up-keep, is that true?
Basically, is it a good vehicle and would you recommend it? And why or why not?
A: Overall, it’s a very refined minivan. If you plan on getting one, I highly recommend the EX or EX-L trim because they come with power sliding doors (the doors are HEAVY without power). Our 2005 has a technology called VCM, which was only available on the EX-L and Touring models, though I’m not sure about the newer models. VCM shuts off 2 or 3 of the 6 cylinders when cruising to save gas. In other words, while cruising, you only run on 4 or 3 cylinders. The transmission is really smooth. Don’t get the models that are the first years of each generation, i.e. 1999, 2005, because they tend to have the most problems. Our minivan has weak power steering while braking.
But, overall, it’s a great car. Highly recommended.
Another option is the Toyota Sienna, which gets just as good gas mileage and is quieter.
Q: Is there a way I can purchase a 2007 Honda Odyssey?
Hi folks, I wanted to ask if there is a way I can purchase a 2007 Honda Odyssey with 1,500.00 down with a FICO of 544 and my wife’s FICO of 540, out the door. Simply, 1500.00 down. How much would my monthly be?
A: avg price of an odyssey is around 29000 so im guessing financed. i would say an apr of 6% for 48 months. probably 700.00 dollars a month
Q: Would it be very bad to haul a car 1000 miles with a 06 Honda Odyssey?
I would like to use a 2006 honda odyssey to haul a 3000 lbs. car for a 1000 mile journey. Honda says the odyssey had 3500 lbs. tow capacity. If it was only a cross town trip I wouldn’t worry but I am just wondering if doing this would significantly hurt the van or just be generally bad for it?
A: even though your towing capacity is 3500lbs, it’s way too long of a trip to haul a car, especially with a minivan. I know Hondas make extremely well-built engines, but you’d be putting unnecessary stress on your motor and transmission. you’re better off just renting a pickup truck.
Q: Is it possibble to fit 9 people in a Honda Odyssey?
My parents are taking 7 kids on a long car trip. They need to fit both of them and the 7 kids in the car and their only options are a Honda Odyssey and a Suburban. I know the Suburban won’t work, but I have never seen the inside of an Odyssey
A: No, not safely. The newer Odyssey’s fit either 7 or 8 people, depending on the trim level. I wouldn’t suggest it because there’s not enough seat belts for all of you, and it’s very tight with 8 people. You might have to take two vehicles or maybe you can rent a big van that fits 11 or more. Good luck.

Q: How do you program the garage door opener on a 2000 Honda Odyssey?
Any manual of 2000 Honda Odyssey?
A: This came from the user HondaGuy from a forum awhile back so give him the credit.!
I did as best I could to reproduce the instructions from the Accord Owners Manual. The system is called “Homelink” in the manual. there are two procedures to program the remote; the first works in 90% of the cases. To start, erase any stored codes– press and hold the twooutside buttons on the HomeLinktransceiver for about 20 seconds, until the red indicator flashes.Release the buttons, then proceed as followsUnplug the garage door openermotor from the electrical outlet.Hold the end of the garage dooropener remote 2 to 5 inches fromHomeLink. Make sure you are notblocking your view of the redindicator in HomeLink. (the ignition for the car may have to be turned on; it doesn’t say if it does or not)Press and hold the remotetransmitter button and one of theHomeLink buttons at the sametime. While continuing to hold theHomeLink button, press andrelease the remote transmitterbutton every 2 seconds. If the red indicator in HomeLinkbegins to flash slowly at first, then rapidly, release bothbuttons, Plug in the garage door openermotor, then test the HomeLinkbutton by pushing it for about 1second.If the button works, programming is complete. If the button does not work, youhave a rolling code transmitter: ‘‘Training with a RollingCode SystemFind the ‘‘training’’ button on yourgarage door opener unit.unit. The location will vary, depending onthe manufacturer.Make sure you have properlycompleted the ‘‘TrainingHomeLink’’ procedure.Press the HomeLink button again. It should operate the garage door. The ‘‘Training HomeLink’’procedure trains HomeLink to theproper garage door opener code. The following proceduresynchronizes HomeLink to thegarage door opener so it sends andreceives the correct codes.Press the training button on thegarage door opener unit until theindicator next to the button comeson. The indicator may blink, orcome on and stay on. You thenhave approximately 30 seconds tocomplete the following steps.Press and hold the button onHomeLink for 3 to 4 seconds.Press and hold the HomeLinkbutton again for 3 to 4 seconds. This should turn off the trainingindicator on the garage dooropener unit. (Some systems mayrequire you to press the button upto three times.)
Q: where is the 2004 Honda Odyssey’s Transmission fluid plug?
I need to pour new transmission fluid into 04 Honda Odyssey. Any one had idea where is the plug ?
A: Unless someone has made and put a plug in, there is no plug. You take the transmission pan off… a messy job if you don’t have the tools.
