Q: What Is the Best Honda Civic to Supe up?
Im looking to buy a used honda civic under 10k and I am wondering what is the best model to supe up? what models do people buy for street racing? whats the best performing model? I believe it was the si coupe but im not sure. If anyone knows what civic is the *classic upgradable civic* please tell me, thanks.
A: the best off-the-line civic is the ‘99-’00 civic si. those are rare, though. if you plan on doing an engine swap, it doesn’t really matter what civic you get. i would go for a ‘94-95 hatch, as hatches are lighter (and i think they look better). those would go for like $3000-4000, and you then have $6000 left to supe it up. truthfully, all the civics are pretty easy to modify. your best bet, if you’re looking to street race, is to buy the cheapest civic you can find with decent exterior. get an engine swap . $2000 for the engine, do the work yourself or find a friend who can. (http://www.teknotik.com/product_sections/engine_disp.php?id=30). you can do all that for $3000, and then have all that money left over to do whatever.

A: Tommy, for a 2001 Honda civic, its attached to the Exhaust manifold and can be found by lifting the hood and peering through the engine bay.

Q: How much would it be to paint my honda civic?
Ok so i bought the 2 fenders, a hood, and the front bumper of my 1997 civic and i want them to be the same BLACK HONDA color as it is right now. Approximately how much would a body shop charge me to paint them?
A: Are they just painting the fenders and the bumper? If so, you are looking at about $300-$400.
If they are putting the fender and bumpers on and painting the whole car, you are looking at about $4,000
Q: How to remove rear speakers for a 1998 Honda Civic?
I bought some new speakers for my car (98′ Honda Civic) and I don’t know how to remove the regular back speakers so I can install the new ones. Can I get some instructions on how to remove them?
A: You don’t need to cut the wires at all, I just got mine installed in 5 minutes with the adapter speaker plug, I got them from Amazon for 16 bucks but you save a lot of time and you don’t mess the wire system of your car with the black tape and stuff.
Here is a quick guide to on how to remove the rear speakers form a coupe – with pictures and FREE. May or may not be the same for 1992-1995 models, I haven’t seen one to compare.
Please do not be put off by this, it really is easy when you know how and the results from quality speakers are well worth the effort.

Know your enemy: Rear seats have a 40/60 split and can be folded down, but to get to the speakers they have to come out…
Fold down both seats and unclip the carpet trim from the back (just pull the carpet and the clips should pop out). Yep, that’s my big sub woofer.
You need to unbolt the 4 10mm bolts holding the 40 seat in place, you can then pull it towards you and out.
Also do the two bolts holding in the 60 split seat
Next you need to unbolt the 10mm bolt on the right, then the 12mm on the left. Keep the bolts and brackets safe. When they are undone the 60 split seat should be able to come out.
Another 12mm bolt on this bracket.
Towards the centre of the seat is another 10mm bolt holding the lower seat in. Undo this and the seat should lift up from the back and unclip from the front.
Now the seats are out, nearly there….
…Well actually I lied, were not half way yet!
You need to loosen the right hand bolt (closest to the front seats) and undo the rear one. They were 14mm bolts on mine. Do both sides of the car.
Should have something like this…
Undo the Phillips screw in each rear panel…
The panels should unclip from the door frame and come out quite easily. The plastic cover on the parcel shelf (rear deck) should now unclip at the front to allow you to lift and pop the other clips. It will then come out.
You can now unclip and unscrew the old speakers and drop in your new ones. I’m putting in my Kenwood KFC9605 speakers. Make sure that they work and you are happy with them before you reassemble the car, you don’t want to be doing this again in a hurry!!
Reassembly of the car is the reverse of the above process.
Just watch out on the 60 split seat, make sure you put the hinge in the bearing before you bolt it down!
Q: Where can you get natural gas for a Honda Civic in Southern California?
My dad is looking to buy a Honda Civic that uses natural gas. Where can he fill it up with natural gas? How much does it cost? We live in Huntington Beach, CA. Are there any places in this area? Thanks!
A: Lots of locations.
In HB you can get it at the Rainbow Disposal on Nichols St.
The article below is from 2008.
The 2nd web site lists all the CNG stations in California.
Q: How much can I knock of the sticker price of a honda civic?
I want to buy a new honda civic and want to know how much I could get it for. Can I bargin the dealer down 4,000 dollars?
A: Getting $4000 off is unrealistic. With less then $1500 between invoice and MSRP. Dealers pay invoice then have other expenses for the true cost to the dealer.
There are many sites that will tell you what the average price paid is in your area. This price will include any manufacturer money available.
In my area I would be about $19,400. If you were at the dealership in person the manager may be a little more motivated.
Q: Where to find replacement temperature dial for my Honda civic?
Hi guys, I have a 1995 Honda civic and I’m looking to buy a replacement knob/dial/button type part for the temperature adjustment on my car. You know the bit in your car that you slide left and right to adjust the temperature? Yeah, the knob for it was gone when I bought it and so far I have been able to insert a long key and just shove the adjustment lever left and right but it’s getting annoying. Any ideas where I can find a knob to fix it with?
A: Go to your local auto parts junkyard. If you’re lucky, you’ll find the same model and year of your car which you can pull the part from.
Good luck!
Q: How do you put on a rear bumper on a 1997 Honda Civic?
What tools do you need? Would you recommend a mechanic(*How much can you expect for a mechanic to charge for this?) to do it or is it something easy to do and you can do yourself. BTW, im talking about the rear Honda civic bumper cover. Sorry alot of questions but my bumper got messed up and I want to fix it asap. Thanks!
A: the bumper is very easy to replace all you will need is a 10mm and a 12mm socket and wrench open you trunk and pull back the carpet on both sides on the back side of the trunk you will see the bolts.. after that look under the rear of your car and you will see 5 or 6 plastic screws i thing for that you will need a flat head screw driver but the always stick so you should have a pair of vise grips to hold the topside of them that’s about all
Q: How do I tell what number of 2008 Honda civic si mugen do I have?

A: there should be a badge on the dashboard. it should tell you the number.
Q: What’s the difference between the 2009 Honda Civic DX, LX, and EX packages?
I’m looking to buy an 09 Honda Civic. For some reason, pinpointing the differences between these trims (DX, LX, and EX) has been difficult. I don’t really want to go to the dealer not knowing which trim I want. Can someone run down a list or link to a site? Thanks.
A: DX

In addition, there are two specialty models: the Civic Hybrid sedan and the Civic Si. Both are equipped to a level similar to the EX trim, though the Si also comes with a sport-tuned suspension, 17-inch wheels and special interior trim, while the Civic Hybrid has automatic climate control but no sunroof.[1] For the EX, Hybrid, and Si, satellite radio and a navigation system are optional.
