Out of the Big 3 the Camaro will be the best performer by far. Ford hasn’t made a fast non-supercharged Mustangs in years, the Challenger is sharp but it’s a heavy pig. It hasn’t laid down any decent times at the track thus far. I think this Camaro will be a hit, 10K already ordered, that says something right there.

I was doing my research, trying to find which camaro was better: a 2nd or 3rd generation. I’m only 14 but when i get a car, I want a manual transmission. After searching some things, i saw that most 2nd gen camaros only had 4 speed standards… is this true? Are there any 5 speeds?
A: Most were automatic, I have never seen a gen 2 with a factory 5 speed.
Q: How much are the 2007 Chevy Camaros?
A: There is no 2007 Chevy Camaro. The last year Chevy made the Camaro was 2002 with the LS1 V8. It was the end of the 4th Generation Camaros.
The 5th Generation Camaro is slated to come back as a 2009 model that should go on sale late in 2008. It will sport independant rear suspension (based off of the Zeta Platform from Austrailia), many engine options (most likely including the new LS3 with over 400HP). It should weigh in at around 3600lbs and share a lot of the same dimensions with the concept car that has been making the car show tours.
There may also be some special edition Camaros coming out, including a rumoured supercharged version.
The car will actually be built in Canada, and you can expect the Camaro pricing to be competative with similary optioned Mustangs. Probibaly run a bit more than the similar Mustang.

A: There were 10,188 2002 camaro z28’s with a 6-speed transmission. Thats is 24.4% of all the camaros made that year. I’m not sure about the black leather seats though. I’m pretty sure all of them are the 35th anniversary edition.

A: Well, I assure you it’s not rare. As that was the same way alot of the V6 base models came from the factory. Except for maybe the T-Tops. That was the hi’er priced option on the f-bodies.

A: I know a lot of Chevrolet fans will hate me for this!
Because Ford’s technology more advanced then Chevrolet. Ford knew that GM was bringing back the Camaro, and that the small block that was going into it had more HP then the current Ford engine. So Ford went to work on an engine up-grade to keep the Camaro a second class citizen.
Chevrolet will counter this move. It is only a question of when. In 1932 Ford introduced the Flathead V-8. It took Chevrolet to 1957 to come up with a answer. Which Ford countered in 1961. Ford introduced the Mustang in 1964, it took Chevrolet two more years to answer that one.
Chevrolet is always trying to catch Ford one way or another.

A: Z is sort of a magical letter for Camero dating back to the original Z28. IROC stands for International Race of Champions. A racing event in which all the cars were supposedly the same (like this model) and the drivers would make all the difference in who won . Or if you like , since all the cars were Cameros, the winner was sure to be driving one.

A: Whichever you feel like emptying your wallet to keep full of fuel! They’re not as bad on gas as the old Mustangs and Camaros I’ve dealt with. I will have to say Camaro though at this point. Mustangs were cool, shameful, then good again in the 70s and 80s…camaros were good, poor-to-fair in the 80s, then good again in the 90s. From 1993 to the end of production, the Camaros/Firebirds/TAs owned the Mustang. If Chevy builds that Camaro concept they showed at Detroit, it’ll own the Mustang again. I don’t care if it’s a Cobra, Shelby Cobra, or a Roush Mustang…it’s a disgrace that Ford can’t put out an affordable V8 that doesn’t need a supercharger to put out at least 400 horsepower.
With all this said, I’ll take a good WRX STi or a Mazdaspeed 6 over either of them.
